Last updated: October 26, 2026
01Who we are
The orphela.com website is operated by Les Produits Lominy Inc. ("Orphela", "we", "us"), 13422 Rue Claude, Mirabel, Quebec J7J 1A4, Canada. We make and sell Orphela pepper paste.
This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain and protect your personal information, in accordance with Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25) and Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
02Person in charge of personal information
As required by law, the person with the highest authority within Les Produits Lominy Inc. acts as the person in charge of the protection of personal information. You can reach them at info@orphela.com (subject: "Personal information"), at 438-467-7446 or by mail at the address above, to the attention of the person in charge of personal information.
03Information we collect
We only collect the information needed for the purposes described below:
- Order and contact requests: name, email, phone, city, province, requested format and quantity, delivery preference and message.
- Wholesale requests: business name, business type, contact person, contact details and estimated volume.
- Confirmed orders: delivery address and information required for invoicing. We do not collect or store any payment card numbers on this site.
- Customer reviews: name or nickname, email (not published), rating and comment.
- Technical data: IP address and server log data, used for security and abuse prevention, and the essential cookies described in our cookie policy.
04Why we use it
- To answer your questions and your order or wholesale requests.
- To confirm, prepare, invoice and deliver your orders, and provide after sales service.
- To publish the reviews you choose to submit, after moderation.
- To keep the site secure and prevent fraud and spam.
- To meet our legal obligations, including tax and accounting obligations.
We do not use your information for other purposes without your consent, except as permitted by law. We never sell or rent your personal information.
05Consent
By submitting a form, you consent to the use of your information for the stated purposes. You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to us, subject to legal and contractual obligations. Withdrawing consent may prevent us from processing your request or order.
We do not send commercial electronic messages without your consent, in accordance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Any promotional message will include a simple way to unsubscribe.
06Sharing with third parties
We share your information only when necessary, and only with:
- our web host, which hosts the site and its database;
- our email providers, to reply to you;
- carriers and delivery services, to deliver your order (name, address, phone);
- our payment and accounting service providers, where applicable;
- authorities, where required by law.
These providers only receive the information required for their mandate and must keep it confidential.
07Transfers outside Quebec
Some of our providers, including our web host, may store or process information outside Quebec, elsewhere in Canada or abroad. Before any such transfer, we assess whether the information will receive adequate protection, as required by law. The information may then be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
08Retention
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes for which it was collected: requests that do not lead to an order are deleted within 24 months; order and invoicing information is kept for the period required by tax laws (usually 6 years). It is then securely destroyed or anonymized.
09Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information: encrypted connection (HTTPS), access limited to authorized people, strong passwords, spam protection and regular updates. No transmission over the Internet is, however, 100% secure.
If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the affected individuals, and keep an incident register, as required by law.
10Your rights
Subject to the exceptions provided by law, you may:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
- withdraw your consent or ask us to delete your information;
- ask us to stop disseminating or to de-index information;
- ask that your computerized information be provided to you in a structured, commonly used technological format.
Write to info@orphela.com. We respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity.
11Minors
This site is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 14 without the consent of a parent or guardian.
12Cookies
The site only uses cookies that are essential to its operation and to remember your language. No advertising or analytics cookies are used. See the cookie policy.
13Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information, please write to us first at info@orphela.com. You may also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
